Month Of Ramadan
For my family, the month of Ramadan is a tradition that had been followed ever since I can remember. During the month of Ramadan, Muslims don't eat during sunlight, but are allowed to eat when the sun is down. Everyday in the morning before the sun is up, our whole family wakes up and my mother makes us the nicest breakfast. Her specialty is the Beef omelet. She takes slices of meat and cooks it with spices that are native to Afghanistan and mixes them with eggs and make the most delicious food of all time. during the sun down is when my mother treats the family with her famous Bolani, which is fried dough with spinach and spices inside it. Every year the whole family looks forward to the this type of cooking because it is inconvenient to cook these dishes throughout the year. At the end of ramadan our whole family has a feast with our aunts and uncles and we do the same tradition of eating lamb meat. The end of the Ramadan month is a treat to the whole family because we don't eat throughout the whole month. Not only is Ramadan is month of religion, it also bring appreciation to food because we don't eat as much of it.
